SpaNaturally

What comes in the SpaStart Kit?

Each SpaStart kit includes one bottle of Spa Flush to clean the spa, a carbon StartNaturally® pre-filter to connect to the end of the hose for the final spa fill, and three months of SpaNaturally refills.

Why is it important to flush a new spa?

All brand new spas coming from the manufacturer are tested with water at the factory to assure that all systems are operational. Residue can collect in the many tubes and jets of the spa after this testing. Our research has shown that removing this residue is necessary to avoid many of the water quality hassles that spa owners experience.

Flush is included in the SpaNaturally SpaStart kit because it enhances the performance of our SpaNaturally product and will provide you with the pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable experience you bought the spa for to begin with.

What are the steps for flushing my spa?

See our detailed flushing procedures in the product instructions for SpaNaturally.

Why should I use the StartNaturally pre- filter on my hose to fill the spa?

Our research demonstrates that tap water quality can vary widely based on the source, geographic location, and even the time of day tested. The filter removes many of these inconsistencies and allows for a more uniform water quality, thus simplifying the start up process.

How often do I have to change the water in my spa?

Consumers report that water changes using this system are performed every six months or more depending upon frequency of use and personal preferences.

What causes foaming?

It is a common misconception that foaming in spa water is caused by laundry detergent from users’ swim suits/clothes. It is not. In fact, laundry detergent is designed to produce little foam so that it doesn't flow out of your clothes washing machine. We believe that the biofilm breaking off and bacteria being released back into the spa water cause a film over the air bubbles formed by the jets of water or other water churning activity.

Does the system work with ozone?

This system works in conjunction with ozone. Some conflict may develop between the ozone and the powerful buffers from the refills causing destabilization of the pH. If your pH readings become erratic, we recommend disabling the ozonator. It should be noted that most ozonators have an effective operating life of 18 to 24 months without replacing the cartridge.

What causes the destruction of covers and spa pillows?

When covered, the air between the spa or pool water and the cover becomes laden with chemicals that volatilize or cause a solid to be changed into a vapor. Oxidizers (chlorine, bromine, ozone) by their nature are destructive. Ozone is the worst culprit. They chemically attack the vinyl.
