CWS to receive "Sustainable St. Paul Award"

“The St. Paul Sustainability Award” is being given in the “Green Products Category.” CWS is being recognized for providing an effective moss-based system in a controlled test environment in a pilot project at the Highland Park Aquatics Center in St. Paul. The project delivered significant cost savings on chemicals, water, maintenance and labor while providing an abundance of benefits to swimmers including dramatic reductions in the irritations to eyes, scalp, hair and the wear on suits.

Water Conditioning and Purification Magazine reviews the test results at the St. Paul city pools. Among the results:

"Numbers just released by the City of St. Paul indicate the city saved $36,000 in chemical costs over the previous year ($78,000) and $40,000 in overtime costs, realizing a $100,000 increase in revenues."

In a story also picked up by MSNBC online and Today online, the Discovery Channel featured CWS in "Swimming Pools Kept Clean by Going Green".
